About
The Show
On this season we will set out to try and find out who Irvine Jane Doe was. We will discuss who she wasn’t, who she may have been, and what life she may have lived prior to her murder. We will discuss the men who eventually admitted to killing her and seek to understand their complicated court proceedings.
The biggest hope of this podcast is to shed light on this case, and to hopefully make a positive identification of Irvine Jane Doe. To hopefully bring the people who knew and loved Irvine Jane Doe a sense of closure. To help them answer questions that they may have had for at least the last 12 years, or possibly longer. I am hopeful that with the advancement of technology, specifically surrounding genetic genealogy, the far-reaching nature of social media, and the popularity and influence of true crime podcasts, that this goal can be reached. In the last few years we have seen a number of case solved through genetic genealogy, as well as a number of John or Jane Doe cold cases finally solved through the same medium. Additionally, we have seen the influence that true crime podcasts and other media have had to help solve cases and apprehend perpetrators.
However, unlike other True Crime Podcasts, we will not, as of now, be able to interview any of Jane’s family members, friends, or people who knew her and loved her. As much as I would like to, I will not be able to devote numerous episodes to tell you who she was and explore the life she lived prior to her murder. But, my hope for this podcast is eventually she will no longer be known by the placeholder name of Irvine Jane Doe, but by the name given to her by her family, who may still be out there looking for her.
